The Problem

Every OTA booking has a cost attached to it.

OTA commissions are a structural cost of doing business through Airbnb, Booking.com and similar platforms. For every reservation that comes through an OTA, a percentage of the booking value is taken as a commission fee. At typical occupancy rates, that adds up to a significant portion of annual revenue.

The OTA model is reasonable for demand generation — especially early on. But repeat guests, guests who found you through word of mouth, and guests reached through your own marketing should not be paying OTA commissions to book with you again.

HostSync's Booking Engine gives you a commission-free channel for direct reservations. Guests book through a branded page, pay via Stripe, and the booking appears in your HostSync calendar alongside everything else. The OTA commission stays in your account.

What It Does

Commission-free direct bookings

Direct bookings do not carry OTA commission. Revenue from direct bookings goes to your Stripe account without a per-booking fee deducted by HostSync.

Branded booking page

The guest-facing booking page reflects your property or operator brand. Upload your logo, set colours and customise the booking experience with branding options that help the booking page feel like part of your own operation.

Stripe payment collection

Payments are processed by Stripe at the time of booking. Guests pay by card on a secure checkout page. Funds go directly to your connected Stripe account.

Custom availability rules

Set minimum stay requirements, booking window lengths and advance notice periods per property. Availability rules configured in the PMS apply automatically to the direct booking page.

Shareable and embeddable

Each property's booking page has a direct URL that can be shared via link or embedded in an existing website. No separate website is required to start taking direct bookings.

Mobile-optimised checkout

The direct booking page is designed for mobile devices. Guests can browse availability, select dates and complete payment on a phone without any friction in the booking flow.

Questions about Booking Engine

How does HostSync collect payment for direct bookings?
HostSync uses Stripe to process payments on the direct booking page. Guests pay at the time of booking via card. The payment goes directly to your connected Stripe account. HostSync does not hold or intermediate funds.
Does the Booking Engine take a commission per booking?
No. There is no per-booking commission on direct reservations taken through the HostSync Booking Engine. You pay the standard HostSync plan fee. Stripe's standard payment processing fees apply to each transaction.
Can I customise the booking page with my own branding?
Yes. The booking page supports logo upload, colour selection and other branding options. The guest-facing page can be configured to reflect your property or operator brand, with branding options that help it feel like part of your own operation. A white-label add-on is available for operators who need full domain customisation.
How do direct bookings appear in HostSync?
Direct bookings appear in the HostSync PMS calendar alongside OTA reservations. The calendar and availability are updated automatically when a direct booking is confirmed. If Channel Manager is active, connected OTAs are updated at the same time.
Can I share the booking link or embed it in my website?
Yes. Each property has a direct booking URL that can be shared as a link or embedded in an existing website as an iframe. The URL can be shared directly with guests via email or messaging, or added to a property website or social media profile.
